Milk and juice cartons are often made from a combination of paper and plastic, which means many don’t get recycled. According to the EPA, these cartons contribute to the more than 80 million tons of packaging waste in the U.S. Help keep some of this waste out of our landfills by using them for crafts and other projects. What You’ll Need:
- Carton
- Pen
- Scissors
- Birdseed
- String
- Hole puncher
- Paint (optional)
Instructions:
- Use your pen to draw an outline for an opening with a flat bottom on each side of your empty carton.
- Cut out each opening.
- Once the openings have been cut out, paint or draw on the outside of the carton and let it dry.
- Punch one or two holes in the flat top part of the carton.
- Feed some twine or string through the hole(s) and tie the ends into a knot.
- Pour some birdseed in the feeder through one of the openings.
- Take the feeder outside and find a nice open space to hang it.
